For many years, there is a permanent flame retardant treatment based on a particular
chemical, called THPC.
It requires the use of gaseous ammonia for the chemical fixation.
With its experience of almost 30 years in this field, Veramtex has developped a special
unit allowing this step. The treatment is called FLAM-FIXE.
As a result, our partners are relieved to achieve this delicate operation, very unfamiliar
to textile companies.
Achievable standards
With FLAM-FIXE, it is possible to achieve the highest standards of fire retardants,
to the M1 and B1 standards on cotton products (or in any case of cellulose).
This treatment is permanent, that is to say it remains active after repeated washings
and it is applicable over a wide range of cellulosic fibers and their mixtures with
synthetic. In addition, the product is harmless to health and does not risk the ban use
unlike many other products.
An investment that benefits many companies
Veramtex offering just the second stage in this process, our partners do not have to invest in a specific machine for the ammonia treatment, which
is a considerable advantage in terms of cost, expertise to be acquired and permits to be requested.
By on the other hand, they can, using their existing machines, offer permanent fireproof treatment while retaining control over products to use, dosages and finishing recipes.
An increasing number of companies will be able to apply a permanent flame retardant treatment on natural plant fibers.
