Beau-Fixe and Flam-Fixe : ECOLOGICAL and SUSTAINABLE treatments
The STeP label joins dual certification Oeko-Tex 100 plus Veramtex obtained 15 years ago.
The crucial advantage of our process is that over 99,5% of the ammonia is
recovered , a level that only Veramtex has succeeded in reaching thanks to its know-how.
So this is a very environmentally friendly process.
If Oeko-Tex 100 certification guarantees the absence of any hazardous product in the fabric,
Oeko-Tex 1000 guarantees the eco-friendly nature of the process.
This label disappears late 2015 in favor of the STeP certification. This one, which can be
compared to the ISO 26000 certification, adds various fields to its predecessor
including, among other, chemicals management aspects and social responsibility,
very current matters.
The STeP audit assigns a level from 1 to 3 (best) in each area, and an overall score. The set is summarized in the received certificate confirming that Veramtex reached overall level 3.
All these efforts will help to items sold to benefit from a "Made in Green" label that will synthesize the feedback of all producers of the textile chain (regularly located in distant countries or even different continents), from spinning to confection. Such traceability and transparency is very recent in the textile industry and even in the general industry (do you know the origin and the ecological performance of the company who builds your car, your desk or even the computer you are using?).
It will enable consumers to better understand the issues of his purchases.
